Rodeo Uncorked! Roundup and Best Bites

300 wines, 3,000 wine and food enthusiasts, and hundreds of hors ‘doeuvres from over 60 restaurants are under one roof! Add a little music to that and it’s a fabulous Monday night, Houston style!

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will host the 5th annual international wine and food tasting extravaganza, Rodeo Uncorked! Roundup and Best Bites Competition.

When: February 18
Time: 7:00-9:30
Where: Floor of Reliant Astrodome
Tickets: $100 per person in advance or $125 at the door
Why: ‘Cause it’s fun and it’s for a good cause!!!

I’m on the Wine Committe of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. We’re expecting thousands of wine and food enthusiasts who get to enjoy tasting the 2008 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo International Wine Competition champion wines, as well as an array of hors ‘doeuvres. It’s truly the flavor of Houston because the food will be prepared by prominent restaurant chefs, caterers and culinary institutions in our area. Between the pouring and tasting of these premiere wines, attendees will cast their votes for “Best Bites” as part of the culinary competition.
In addition to an evening of outstanding food and wine, the saddle winners of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo International Wine Competition will be announced. This year, more than 2,000 wines from 606 wineries and 16 countries were vying for the prestigious title of Grand Champion Best of Show.
