Show Them The Money

Congress gets a $4,700 raise this year.  We’re paying for it, obviously.  It’s automatic unless enough of them give it back.  Not sure if “automatic” means the raise was already added to their checks via direct deposit or something.  Heck, it might even be too late to stop it.  Either way, some congressman say they won’t take it and have been against it from the beginning.  Others believe public servants are underpaid already.  This was a tough story to find.  It seems it flew under some news editors’ radars.  One blogger in particular was really annoyed by the whole thing.  No surprise at the frustration when some teachers around the country are being asked to forget pay raises.  If teachers, why not politicians?
