Watch a Musical, Rescue a Pet!

We’re announcing a great musical for the kids that opens this weekend.  It’s fun, cheap, and inside (there’s a chance for rain).  And we should mention proceeds help rescued dogs.  Oh – and they’ll have resuced animals available for adoption at each performance!!

UpStage Theatre presents “Too Many Beagles,” a children’s musical play about animal rescue at the historic Lambert Hall in the Heights (Heights Blvd. @ 17th St.).

“Too Many Beagles” is based on a true story about a Basset Hound named Maggie who is fostered and ultimately adopted by a loving family. Bentley the Beagle narrates his tale of woe after Maggie’s arrival and all the new adjustments that go along with it. Mom and Dad learn the value of animal rescue and fostering from Sara (the rescue worker), while Bentley and Maggie learn about diversity and friendship. This heartwarming story is told with humor and music – and is certain to delight children from Ages 2-102. A must-see for pet lovers! Profits will benefit Basset Buddies Rescue of Texas.

Too Many Beagles performances are February 21, 22, 28, and 29 – and March 7 and 8 at 2pm in Lambert Hall, 1703 Heights Blvd, Houston, Texas. Tickets are $10 and group rates are available. To reserve your tickets, please call 713-838-7191 or visit the website at:
